Alice J. (Hoersten) Hoersten

Alice J. Hoersten, age 70, of Van Wert, died at 9:53 PM Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born April 11, 1945 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Isidore P. and Mildred A. (Schulte) Hoersten.
Survivors include her siblings: Jim Hoersten of Van Wert- Jack (Sandy) Hoersten of Van Wert- Bob (Vickie) Hoersten of Battle Creek Michigan- Tom Hoersten of Van Wert- Mike (Liz) Hoersten of Van Wert- Mary Ann Hoersten of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Hoersten.
Alice was member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She had been a long time employee of the former Merit Shoe Store in Van Wert and had retired from the Van Wert Wal-Mart after 20 years of service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Friday, September 18, 2015, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. There will be no Calling Hours.
Preferred Memorials are to the Community Health Professionals Hospice program and the Van Wert County Humane Society.
