Betty Jean Myers

Betty Jean Myers, 68, of Van Wert, died at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.

She was born January 7, 1944, in Van Wert, OH, the daughter of the late Donald and Donna (Grant) Myers.

Betty was a teacher at Wayne Trace High School where she also coached basketball with a record of 250 wins. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a past member of the Van Wert County Harness Horsemans' Association.

Survivors include two sisters, Jane (Doyle) Harris and Nancy Dixon both of Van Wert; Eight Nieces and Nephews, Lori (Carl) Clouse of Ohio City, Donna (Larry) Clouse, Jim (Melanie Bandy) Myers, Paul (Helen) Dixon, Sara (Phil) Lape, Tony Dixon, Amy Rosbaugh and Nikki (Greg McCray) Harris, all of Van Wert; Several Great and Great-Great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert, with the Rev. Philip Zielinski officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Middle Point, OH.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, at Brickner Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Wayne Trace Educational Opportunities Fund which was created by Betty to help students at Wayne Trace School go on field trips or to assist needy students with expenses beyond the classroom.
