29, of Convoy, died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born January 18, 1977, in Messania, N.Y., the son of Richard and Diane (Cheney) Wood of Okeechobee, Fla. On January 9, 1997, in Ringgold, Ga., he married Kelli (Klausing) Cheney, who survives in Convoy.
Mr. Cheney was a subcontractor for MKS Siding. He was a 1995 graduate of then-Vantage Vocational School in Van Wert. He was a hard worker, a good provider, and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents and his wife, survivors include a daughter, Storm Cheney of Convoy; two brothers, Wayne Cheney, who is a corpsman in the U.S. Navy, and Rick wood of Florida; two sisters, Kim Quinlin of Okeechobee, Fla., and Karen Rode of Van Wert; a grandmother, Peppi Berns of New York; and 17 nieces and nephews.
His birth parents, Mike and Roisalee Cheney; grandparents Winnie and John Wood, Francilla and Amos Cheney and Michael Berns; and a nephew, Blaze Cheney, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 20, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jim C. Burns officiating.
Visitation is from noon until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
