Carl Fredrick Hoghe
July 8, 1940 — January 23, 2009
68, of rural Convoy, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born July 8, 1940, in Van Wert, the son of Marcile (Baer) Hoghe, who survives in Van Wert, and the late Gayle Fredrick Hoghe, who died July 4, 2007.
On May 1, 1965, he married Patricia Hoghe, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Hoghe was a retired employee of International Harvester and had also served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include four children, Carrie (Stuart) Sheets of Fort Wayne, Ind., Thomas (Sandy) Schaadt of Westerville, Teresa Metzger of Bowling Green and Eric Schaadt of Findlay; two brothers, Tim (Colleen) Hoghe of Van Wert and Brad (Denise) Hoghe of Gahanna; six grandchildren, Jacob Metzger, Jeremy (Jana) Metzger, Joel Metzger, Jason (Megan) Schaadt, Jamie Schaadt and Katie Schaadt; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Tonnie Hoehn, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Father Mike Zacharias officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, January 25, at the funeral home.
