Charlotte Stemen, 95, died at 10:28 AM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Vancrest Healthcare Center. She was born October 5, 1918 in Philadelphia PA to Harry & Mildred (Smith) Alles who are both deceased.
In 1956 she married Charles Stemen who died in 1973. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Kelley Petrovia of Philadelphia and a brother, Harry Alles Jr, of Brockton, MA.
She is survived by a nephew, John Kelley and his wife, Susan of Princeton Junction, NJ., a nephew, Harry Alles,III of Abington, MA.,a niece, Deborah Cates of Stowe, VT., a nephew, Paul Alles and his wife, Chris, of Bridgewater, MA., a nephew, Kevin Alles and his wife, Patti, of Brockton, MA. and numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as many dear and beloved friends.
Before moving to Van Wert, OH Charlotte was employed in Philadelphia as a milliner. In Van Wert she was employed at Kennedy Manufacturing and worked at St. Mary of the Assumption Church as a housekeeper and cook for Father James Siefker for 12 years from which she retired.
She was a member of St. Mary Of the Assumption Church in Van Wert and its Rosary Altar Society, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Senior Citizen Golden Oldies.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, November 22, 2013 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Van Wert, with Father Stanley Szybka officiating. The family will receive visitors at Brickner Funeral Home Van Wert from 2:00 PM to 6:oo PM Thursday, November, 21, 2013 and also from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday at the funeral Home.
