Cheryl Sue McDonough (Springs) died peacefully while at Van Wert Area Hospice Inpatient Center on March 25 2016 at 5:44am in Van Wert, OH at the age of 56.
Cheryl is survived by her parents Kenneth and Barbara (Schulte) Springs of Springfield, IL; husband, Daniel McDonough Van Wert, OH; children, Erica (Christopher) Losh and Michael Kistler both of Van Wert, OH; Paternal Grandmother, Margaret Springs of Highland, IL; Siblings: Michael (Wendy) Springs of San Antonio; TX, Marsha (Mike) Norris of Springfield, IL; Karen (Jeff) Hayden or Danville, IL; Kevin (Fina) Springs of Las Vegas, NV; Kathleen (Doug) Campbell of Newton, PA; Keith (Gabrielle) Springs of Bowling Green, KY; Kim Springs of Allentown, PA; Michele (Pat) Campano of Schnecksville, PA; Stacey (Robert) Adams of Salem, WI; Kurt (Lisa) Springs of Macungie, PA; Carolyn (Dan) Baum of Lenhartsville, PA; Cynthia (Mark) Buchvalt of Allentown, PA. She has many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by nephew, Jonathan Springs; sister, Deanna (Springs) Fountaine; maternal grandparents, William and Ottilia (Huegen) Schulte; and paternal grandfather, Louis Springs.
Cheryl was born on September 13, 1959 in Highland, IL to Kenneth and Barbara Springs. She graduated from Van Wert High School in 1977 and was in the process of pursuing her nursing career at the Rhodes State College. She was married to Jon “Rick” Kistler from 1977-1996, with whom she had both her children and made lifelong friends with his family. She met her current husband Dan shortly after and was married on September 21, 2002. Together they enjoyed many bike rides, sunsets and building their dream home together.
Cheryl’s favorite title was “Grandma”; she loved spending time with her five granddaughters, Corrine Kistler, Margaret Kistler, Juliana Kistler, Jadyn Bullinger and Eliza Losh.
A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 from 2-7pm at Brickner’s Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, March 31 10:30am at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cheryl’s life. The family would like to thank Community Health Professionals Home Health and Hospice and Van Wert Area Hospice Inpatient Center staff for their care. Preferred Memorials are to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
