85, of Van Wert, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida.
He was born May 18, 1920, in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of the late Walter Sr. and Lillian (Boroff) Conley. He married Catherine (Stripe) Conley, who preceded him in death. He then married, Coteal, who survives.
Mr. Conley was retired from Federal Mogul Corp.. He was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the Army Air Corps as a Tech. Sgt. Crew Chief, with the headquarters of the 410th Bomber Group. He was a member of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178, both in Van Wert. He was alos a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Silver Springs, Florida.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters, Karen Goins of Van Wert, Ohio, Sandy (Dana) Goodenough, Barbara (Dana) Smith of Van Wert, Ohio, Betty (David) Sidenbender of Hicksville, Ohio; three step-sons, Danny (Diane) Lee of North Dakota, Darrell Lee of Florida, Eric Lee of Florida; two step-daughters, Susie (Ed) Packard of Florida, Julie (Scott) Anderson of Florida; two brothers, Marion E Conley of Toledo, Ohio, Dale Conley of Paulding, Ohio; two sisters, Patricia McIntire of Paulding, Ohio, and Donna Martz of Van Wert, Ohio.
A brother, Walter Conley Jr.; two sisters, Betty Shobe, and Ilo Louise Conley, and a Great-grandchild, Cameron Ruoff, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 03, 2006 at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim C. Burns officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery in Scott, Ohio, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are from 1-4 & 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 02, 2006 at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
