88, of Van Wert, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born March 13, 1920, in Defiance, the daughter of the late Ora and Pearl (Nicely) Bleeks. On April 18, 1970, she married Walter C. Beckler, who died March 26, 1988.
Mrs. Beckler was a retail clerk at Kroger's Supermarket for many years.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Sheryl) Beck of Middlebury, Ind.; two daughters, Shirley Coon of Van Wert and Karen (Ken) Sproles of Springfield; two stepchildren, Dave Beckler of Tucson, Ariz., and Barb Burris of Florida; eight grandchildren, Krista Sproles and Kelli Sproles of Columbus, Shannon Greve of Van Wert, Brandi Hicks of Elkhart, Ind., Jason Hicks of Goshen, Ind., Dan Hicks of Delton, Mich., Brian Beck of New York and Julie Wortman of Wapakoneta; two stepgrandchildren, Tim Burris of Defiance and Cindy Baker of Florida; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A son, Phillip Beck, and a great-granddaughter, Abigale Beck, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 31, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 30, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
