Donald Lee "Duffy' Akom

76, of Scott, died at 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born October 18, 1930, in York Township, Van Wert County Ohio, the son of the late Eugene and Marcile (Gause) Akom. He married Verabelle (Adams) Akom, on Friday, February 22, 1952 who survives.
Mr. Akom was a member of Harvest Field Pentecostal Church of God, Former member of Scott Lions Club, Scott Volunteer Fire Department, and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Donald P. (Vivian) Akom, Ricky Lee (Suzanne) Akom both of Scott, two daughters, Sharon Kaye (Bert) Hittle, Kimberly M. (Christopher S.) Martinez, both of Scott, two brothers, Richard Akom of Scott, and Daniel Akom of Marion, Ohio, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by, three brothers, Robert, James and Maurice Akom, three sisters, Jean Alice Mullen, Mary Lou Tarlton, and Rebecca Ladd, one grandchild, Lacy Trammell.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Scott Ohio with graveside military services by the Combined Honors Unit of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Wednesday June 27, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
