Donald Ray Miller, 83, of Van Wert passed away at 12:06 PM Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Van Wert County Hospital. He was born June 5, 1932 in Middle Point a son of Earl and Pearl (Daring) Miller both of whom are deceased . On July 19, 1963 he married Margaret (Peg) Miller who is deceased.
He is survived by children: Dorothy (Dot) E. (Glen) Mason-Markley of Van Wert, Robert (Bob) Mason of Convoy, Vickie A. (Gary) Puglsey of Mesa, AZ, a brother, Curtis F. Miller of Van Wert, Grandchildren: Donald (Don) L. Mason of Van Wert, Christal R. (Rudy) Pugsley-Munguia, of Reynoldsburg, OH, Gary W. (Kris) Pugsley, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ, Kris T. Markley of Van Wert, Jessica K. (Brian) Stotz of Moab, UT, and Tyler J. Mason of Moab, UT, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Mason of Charleston, W. VA, a daughter-in-law, Angie Mason, brothers Earl, LeRoy, Bob, Oscar and a sister, Lola Thatcher.
He was a retired tool and die maker at Kennedy Kit Manufacturing. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a life member of the United Steelworkers Union and a life member of both VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 2 - 8 PM Thursday, Janurary 21 at Brickner Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2016 at the funeral Home with Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Military rites by the combined Honors Unit of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178 will be at 4:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
