Eleanor Gentile

88, of Van Wert, died at 8:28 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2007, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born July 16, 1919, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Glen and Iva (Black) Steinmetz. On November 8, 1975, she married Victor Gentile, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Gentile was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, the Van Wert Chapter of Women of the Moose, and was a 1939 graduate of Van Wert High School.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a sister, Phyllis Schaadt of Fort Wayne, Ind.; several nieces and nephews, Paula (Larry) Giessler of Van Wert, Kathy (Gregg) Perry of Monroeville, Ind., Ronald (Linda) Coleman of Ocala, Fla., Steve (Carrie) Schaadt of Fort Wayne, David Schaadt of Kendallville, Ind., Sandra (William) Rieder of Jamestown and Linda (Dennis) Folmar of Dayton.
Three sisters, Luella Mae Steinmetz, Pauline Frock and Patricia Coleman, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
