Elijah Lee Sherman-Parks, 13, of Van Wert, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. He was born May 7, 2000, in Bellevue, Ohio.
He is survived by his Mother and Step- Father Charity H. (John Ruppert II)Sherman-Ruppert. His Father and Step-Mother Doug (Katie) Parks, Jr.
He also is survived by his brother Kaiden Keller and sisters Alexus and Lilyan Smith all of Van Wert.
In addition he is also survived by by his Maternal Grandfather, Dennis Sherman of Fremont, Ohio- Maternal Grandmother Sandra Sherman of Clyde, Ohio- Maternal Step-Grandparents John and Becky Ruppert of Coldwater, MI-Maternal Step-Grandparents Jeff and Bridget Steingass of Cecil, Ohio- Maternal Great-Grandparents Darell and Pearlie Sherman of Somerset, Kentucky- Maternal Great-Grandfather Max Kemerer of Hicksville, Ohio- Maternal Great-Grandmother Alice Whitman of Dayton, Ohio.
He is also survived by his Paternal Grandparents Dave and Judy Weaver of Celina, Ohio- Paternal Grandparents Chuck and Grace Parks of Clyde, Ohio- Paternal Step-Grandfather Andy Post of Coldwater, Ohio-Paternal Step-Grandparents Kim and Tony Reed of Celina, Ohio- Paternal Great-Grandparents Sherman and Brenda Killion of Petersburg, MI- Paternal Great-Grandparents Charles and Stella Parks of Bellevue, Ohio- Paternal Step-Great Grandmother Eileen Klosterman of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal Great-Grandparents Wayne and Helen Stinchcomb- Paternal Step-Great Grandmother Wilma Russo-Paternal Great Aunt Gloria Renee Sears.
Elijah would have entered the 8th. Grade this coming year at the Van Wert Middle School. He was a member of the Hicksville Go-Getters 4-H Club and played football at the Van Wert Middle School. Having been a "giver" in life so he was in death donating his organs so that another may live.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at Brickner Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Viewing will be on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 from 2 - 8 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM to time of service all at Brickner Funeral Home.
