Erma Ruth Height

Erma Ruth Height died at 3:15 AM Fiday, January 10, 2014 at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born October 7, 1926 in Sullivan, IL. the daughter of Charles Harry Voyles and Adaline Belle (Aiken) Voyles. Her husband, Elvin A. Height, died Sept. 28, 2003.
She is survived by three daughters: Nancy S. (Robert) Raser of Parma, MI. Linda M Cosgrove of Jackson, MI. Brenda J. (David) Cullen of Van Wert and 2 Step-daughters: Penny R. Thompson of Van Wert and Carolyn K. (Tommy) Firestien of Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 sons: Courtney J. Cosgrove, Elvin A. Height, and Patrick W. Height. Also 3 grandsons, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
She had been employed for more than 30 years by Phillips Lighting and retired in 1988. She loved family life with all of her grandchildren and will be long remembered for her story telling. She also received a great amount of enjoyment sitting on her porch watching birds, especially Hummingbirds and Cardinals.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Brickner Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Calling will be from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday, January 13, 2014 at Brickner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Van Wert.
Preferred memorials are to VFW Post 5803 Van Wert.
