Etta May Kreischer, 84 of Van Wert, Ohio passed away on January 31, 2012 at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on June 1, 1927 in Paulding County, OH to Orvel and Florence (Pease) Reed, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 7, 1947, she married Richard "Dick" Kreischer, who survives in Van Wert.
Etta was a homemaker and was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in Harrison Township.
Survivors include three children, Yevonne (James) Chiapetta of Perrysburg, OH, Vicki (Stanley "Stan") Laux of Celina, OH, and Richard (Suzanne) Kreischer,Jr. of Van Wert, OH; six grandchildren, Lisa (Ross) Bowe of Perrysburg, OH, Jon (Heather) Chiapetta of Sylvania, OH, Stephen (Ashley) Laux of Celina, OH, Christopher (Fiancee, Tiffany Whittle) Laux of Ann Arbor, MI, Zachary (Erika) Kreischer of Van Wert, OH, and Michelle Kreischer of Philadelphia, PA; four great-grandchildren, Sebastian Michael Kreischer, Brody Richard Kreischer, Cadence Emery Laux and Desmond Joseph Chiapetta.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruth Kreischer and Betty Missler.
Etta was a donor of the Anatomical Gift Program for Medical Research at Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, OH. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, OH, with Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 10:00 am until time of service.
Preferred memorials are donations to Alzheimer's Association and St. Paul's Reformed Church in Harrison Township.
