Frances "Betty" Mcbroom

Frances "Betty" (Bailey) McBroom, 96, peacefully joined our Father in Heaven February 2, 2012 at her daughter's home in Lisman, AL.

Frances was born December 9, 1915 to the late Sarah (Davis) and Charles Stepath. She attended Massachusetts State Teachers College, obtaining a degree in Home Economics and Textiles.

In July, 1947, Frances married Leonard M Bailey; and they moved to Van Wert, OH in 1950. Leonard preceded her in death in 1982. In 1989 She married Robert McBroom and moved to Defiance, OH. Robert preceded her in death in 2002.

Frances was a member of St Marys of the Assumption Church in Van Wert and was always active in her church. She enjoyed traveling; and spending time with family and friends.

Frances is survived by her son, Andrew I. Bailey, Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Marie C. Ward, Lisman, AL; daughter-in-law, Donna (Douglas) Holman, Van Wert, OH; Stepchildren: Fred McBroom; Pat Newcomb; Janet Carter; Judy Zinober; Denny McBroom; Mike McBroom and Peg Boyers all from the Defiance, OH area; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are son, Charles E Bailey; step-son, Richard McBroom; step-daughter, Phyllis Cappes; and brother, Myron Stepath.

A memorial mass will be held March 10, 2012 at 10:30am at St Mary of the Assumption Church, Van Wert, OH, with Father Stanley Szybka officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, OH on April 16th at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind; Catholic Relief Services; St. Mary of the Assumption RC Parish or Catholic Charities of Toledo.
