Frances Marie Miller

Marie Miller, 90, went to be with her Heavenly Father at 7:50 am Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Community Health Professionals Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio.

She was born on October 1, 1924 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Clyde and Ernesteen Parks who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her twin sister, Loree Norris of Weatherford, Texas, one son, Harold (Paula) Miller, one daughter, Sharon (Tom) Sass, three grand-daughters, Tiffany (Trevor) McKinney, Dawn Gerber, and Holly Sass, one grandson, Sean Wagner, six great grand-children (two deceased), two nephews, Harry Fryer Jr. and Jerry (Marilynn) Fryer, and one niece, Jane (Terry) Ellis.  Two sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death.

Marie graduated from Santo High School in Santo, Texas.  On January 13, 1943 she married Donald E. Miller in Mineral Wells, Texas.  They were married for 71 years.  Donald preceded her in death on September 16, 2014.  Marie was a 70 year member of the Van Wert First Baptist Church.  She retired from the Aeroquip (Eaton) Manufacturing Company of Van Wert after 22 years of employment.  She was a faithful caretaker of her ailing husband, Donald,  until 2006 when he was admitted to Vancrest Healthcare Center.  She also met monthly with many of her retiree friends at local restaurants.

Marie was a very compassionate, caring and lovely Christian lady, who truly lived out her faith.  She loved her family and friends dearly.  She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church of Van Wert (13887 Jennings Road) on Monday, January 12, 2015 with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating.  Viewing will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Brickner  Funeral Home Van Wert.  There will also be viewing at First Baptist on Monday one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery following the service.

Memorial contributions or gifts may be given to the First Baptist Church (Van Wert), Vancrest Healthcare Center Activities Department and Van Wert Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center.
