He was born March 17, 1943, in West Unity Ohio, the son of Edward and Dorothy (Mumford) Mengerink.
He is survived by, one son, John E. (Lynn)Mengerink of Plainfield, IL., one grandson, David John Mengerink, five brothers, Donald "Buddy" (Barb) Mengerink of Van Wert, Roger (Carol) Mengerink of Van Wert, Larry (Diane) Mengerink of Van Wert, Chuck (Melanie) Mengerink of Hendersonville TN., Kenneth "Butch" (Karen) Mengerink of Van Wert, three sisters, Dorothy (Tim)Agler of Ohio City, Mereditch High of Miamisburg, Pat Holtsberry of Van Wert.
He was preceded in death by, two brothers, Edward Mengerink, Robert Mengerink, and three sisters, Joyce Williams, Marilyn Dempsey, and Gloria Jean Miller.
He worked as a Heavy Machinery Operator for the former E.W. Mengerink & Son Company, and Richard Schumm Plumbing & Heating Co. of Van Wert. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges. He loved Polkas, both music and dancing.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 25, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Paul Miller officiating, at the funeral home. Internment will be at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the funeral home.
