James Kent Gribler

72, of Van Wert, OH., died at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Convoy Care Center, Convoy, OH..

He was born January 30, 1935, in Van Wert, the son of the late Kenneth and Clara (Tate) Gribler. He married Carol (Unterbrink) Gribler, who survives in Van Wert.

Mr. Gribler owned and operated Ken Gribler Clothing in Van Wert. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and a member and past exalted ruler of Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, in Van Wert.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Steven (Vicki) Gribler of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Pamela Collins of Garrett, Ind.; a stepson, Grant (Trisha) Goodwin; one stepdaughter, Renee Hartman; six grandchildren, Ashley Gaskill, Aryn Gribler, Allison Collins, Justin (Valexa) Goodwin, Evan Goodwin and Logan Goodwin; and a great-grandson, Cadyn Gaskill.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 17, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 16, and an hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. An Elks memorial service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
