90, of Van Wert, died at 8:08 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born April 13, 1918, in Pikeville, Ky., the daughter of the late John and Hester (Maynard) Gannon.
Ms. Gannon was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress at several restaurants, including Balyeat's Coffee Shop in Van Wert. She also enjoyed quilting. She had attended Grassy Baptist Church in Zebulon, Ky.
Survivors include five children, Frances (Raymond) Foster and John Henry Rife, both of Van Wert, Elizabeth Raines of Cullman, Ala., James Rife of Williamsburg, Ky., and Vonn (Jim) Harrell of Pikeville, Ky.; two sisters, Margie Campbell of Florida and Jean Daughtery of Georgia; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, J.G. Rife and Lorenzo "Ruben" Rife; six brothers, Vernon, Orphus, Chester, Oden, James and Lawson Gannon; three sisters, Lola Young, Della Blackburn and Bessie Waugh; four grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Marvin Arlen Raines, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Wallace Eason officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Wert Community Health Professionals-Visiting Nurses Association.
