Josephine J. Rayer, 78, of Van Wert, died at 11:37 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born in Van Wert, Ohio on March 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Servand R. and Juano (Morenno) Barrientos. On October 6, 1952, she was united in marriage with Milford Rayer, who survives her in Van Wert.
Josephine is also survived by five children: Christina "Chris" (Rex) Craig of Van Wert, OH, Randall D. Rayer of Ohio City, OH, Terrilyn (Dennis) Straw of Ohio City, OH, Brian Rayer of Van Wert, OH, and Jeffrey (Lori) Rayer of Van Wert, OH; 3 Brothers, Max (Arlene) Barrientos of Van Wert, OH, Richard (Juanita) Barrientos of Van Wert, OH, and John Barrientos of Roanoke, IN; 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Bob Barrientos, Margaret Nieto, Arthur Barrientos, Junior Barrientos and Vangie Hutchins; 2 Grandsons, Russell "Rusty" Straw and Jeffrey "JJ" Alan Rayer, Jr.
Josephine was a homemaker. She was a life member of the American Legion Post 178 Auxiliary and VFW Post 5803 Auxiliary.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May, 26, at Brickner Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
