Juanita Elizabeth Klausing

September 24, 1918 — June 2, 2007

88, of Shelby, Mich., and formerly of Van Wert, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at her residence.

She was born September 24, 1918, in Shreveport, La., the daughter of the late Ernest and Minnie (Eagle) Kisner. On Saturday, September 28, 1940, in Delphos, she married Robert L. Klausing, who preceded her in death in 1991.

Mrs. Klausing was a former employee of Westinghouse Corporation in Lima and retired from the former Borden Foods plant in Van Wert. She graduated from high school in Lima and was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, its Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

Survivors include five children, Larry Klausing of Millbury, Gale (Paula) Klausing and Mike (Elaine) Klausing, both of Van Wert, Connie (Robert) Van Ausdall of Shelby, Mich., and Paula (Jeff) Bailey of New Bremen; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrand- and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Henry "Sonny" Kisner and Raymond Kisner; a sister, Minette Kisner; one grandchild; and a great-grandchild, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Endowment Fund.
