Karla J. Dix, 69, of Van Wert died at 12:25 PM Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford, OH, She was born January 26, 1946, in Van Wert the daughter of the late Karl and Jeanne (Blanke) Laemmle. On April 23, 1966 she married Jerry Dix who preceded her in death on March 25, 2007.
She is survived by her daughters: Wendi (Scott)Creed of New Haven, IN and Tricia Dix of Van Wert; Grandchildren Kaytlyn and Taylor Creed of New Haven, IN; Brothers and Sisters; Ron Butler, Niceville, FL- Bruce R. Butler, Phillipines- Sue Hawkey, Yellow Springs, OH-Mike (Connie) Butler, Van Wert-Doug Laemmle, Van Wert- Terri Hopkins, Lima, OH- Charles Dix, Greenfield, IN- Kathy Dix Hines, Fort Wayne, IN.-Betty Stieglitz, Harlan, IN- and Paul Dix of Churubusco, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Butler-Sister-in- law Nancy Dix Worden,- Father and Mother-in-law Carroll and Alice Dix.
Karla had spent her life ministering to the needs of others first as an LPN in the Van Wert County Hospital Emergency Room and then as a Paramedic with Brickner Ambulance Service.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Brickner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cenetery. Friends may call at Brickner Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, Feb. 09, 2015 and from 9:30 AM to time of Service Tuesday.
