81, of Wren, Ohio, died at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio.

He was born October 01, 1923, in Defiance, Ohio., the son of Leo Thomas, Sr. and Irene Relyea Caryer. He married Esther [Burris]Caryer, December 01, 1945, who survives.

Mr. Caryer was a Loader Operator for Union Quarries (Now Maumee Stone) for 34 years, avid race fan and coon hunter.

In addition to his wife, He is survived by 3 Daughters: Marilyn Neate of Wren, OH,- Marcelene (Richard) Price of Wren, OH,- Peggy (Danny) Miller of Mount Vernon, KY, 4 Grandchildren: Matthew Swygart of Rockford, OH, Christopher (Angie) Swygart of North Vernon, IN, David Schaadt of Celina, OH, Macayla Miller of Mount Vernon, KY,- 8 Great-Grandchildren: Brett Swygart, Sydney Swygart, Mollie Swygart, Samantha Swygart, Mason Swygart, Sarah Schaadt, Johnaton Schaadt , Cecelia Schaadt,- 2 Sisters: Blanche Rue of Continental, OH, Juanita Caryer of Hicksville, OH,- 2 Brothers: Richard Caryer of Defiance, OH, and Howard Caryer of Hicksville, OH.

He was preceded in death By: 5 Brothers: Clarence, Charles, James, Gerald "Jack", and Homer Caryer and 1 Sister, Thelma.

Visitation will be held at Brickner Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 - 8 and on Friday at Countryside Church of the Nazarene from 9:30 AM to Time of Service.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 24, 2005 at Countryside Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Darrell Spencer officiating, with Interment at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
