Lester G. Glander

Lester G. Glander of Van Wert died at 6:45 PM Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.  He was born January 20, 1919 in West Unity, OH  a son of Andrew Glen and Mary E. (Stultz} Glander, both of whom are deceased.  On July 22, 1941 he married Clara Lucille Eutsler who is also deceasd.

Surviving are his children, Linda Glander, Angola, IN, Nancy Gallet, Ashley, OH, Blace Glander, Van Wert and Greg Glander of Venedocia.  Also surving is his sister, Helen Mosier of Van Wert and grandchildren:  Bobbie Jo Daniels, Charity Smith, Patrick Zabst, James Detter, Josh Detter, Ross Glander, Lance Glander, Greg Glander, and Lisa Stull.  Also surviving are 15 plus great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Glander, a sister, Marjorie Ormsby, a grandson, Donald "Chippy" Stewart ll, and a great grand daughter, Shelby Detter.

Lester had retired from Federal Mogul after many years of service.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of  World War 2 and a member of Van Wert American Legion Post 178.

Services will be at 1:30 PM Monday, April 7, 2014 at Brickner Funeral Home with Pastor Philip E. Zielinski officiating.  Burial will follow in Wright Cemetery near Venedocia.  Friends will be received in Brickner Funeral Home by the family from 2 - 8 PM Sunday, April 6, 2014 and 1 hour prior to services on Monday.  Graveside military honors will be rendered by the Combined Honors unit of Van Wert American Legion Post 178 and V F W Post 5803.
