86, of Davenport, Iowa, and a former resident of Van Wert, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the Davenport Lutheran Home.
She was born June 01, 1921, in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of the late Glenn and Minnie (Smith) Updegrove. She married Cleo B. Briggs on December 09, 1939, he preceded her in death on September 18, 2001.
Those Left to honor her memory include her children: Donald Briggs of Akron, OH., David Briggs of St. Augustine, FL., Kathleen Smith, of Spring Hill, TN., Nancy Dellinger, of Hilliard, OH., Timothy Briggs of Beverley Hills, CA., and Sally Haugen of Davenport, IA..
She was preceded in death by, her parents, Cleo, her loving husband of 62 years, three brothers, two sisters, and a great-grandchild.
Prior to her retirement she was a Geriatrics Nurse at the Fort Wayne Lutheran Home, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, and she enjoyed quilting and camping.
Services will be Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Haldon Robarge officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday June 29, 2007 from 6-8 PM.
