Marion Ortega of Van Wert died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1938 in Venedocia, Ohio the son of Hilario and Helen (Hernandez) Ortega. He was never married.
He is survived by 3 Brothers: John (Karen) Ortega of Vandalia, OH, David (Sherry) Ortega of Ashley, IN, and Hilario (Nancy)Ortega of Fort Wayne, IN. 6 Sisters: Inez Ruiz of Toledo, OH, Esther Golden of Lima, Delores (Fabian) Canales of Van Wert, Mary Ochoa of Fort Wayne, IN, Shirley Ortega of Fort Wayne, IN, and Thedora (Jorge) Guerrero of Fort Wayne, IN.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Chavarria and a brother Joseph Ortega.
Mr. Ortega had been employed for a time at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne and at the Council on Aging in Van Wert. He volunteered at the Salvation Army , Council on Aging and Trinity Friends Church, of which he was a member, and other organizations in Van Wert.
Services will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Trinity Friends Church Van Wert. Calling will be at the church 1 hour prior to services. A fellowship meal at the church will follow the service.
Burial in Wright Cemetery, Converse, OH will be at a later date. Service arrangements by Brickner Funeral Home.
