Mary Ann (Pichon) Snyder

Mary Ann Snyder, age 80, formerly of Van Wert, passed away at 1:55 PM Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Presense Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, Indiana. She was born November 14, 1936 in Fort Wayne, IN a daughter of Thomas and Esther (Eckart) Pichon. She was first married to Frederick Allen Place who died November 4, 1972. She then married Homer Eugene Snyder who died June 9, 2001.
She is survived by her sons and daughters: Anthony Edward (Mikki) Place of Davenport, IA --Yvonne Marie Place, New Haven, IN---Ann Monique Edgel, Avilla, IN---Katherine Rose Myers, Van Wert, OH----Kenneth Stephen (Marlene Dian) Place, Van Wert, OH---Joseph Allen Place, Ohio City, OH---2 Step Daughters: Jane (Bob) Strunkenberg, Van Wert, OH and Ginger Chivington, Van Wert, OH. 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 Sisters: Margaret Robbins, Crestline, OH----Frances Blust, Fort Wayne, IN----Julia Perry, Fort Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Tom and Paul and 1 sister, Alice.
she had worked as a cook and server at several nursing homes and restaurants in Van Wert over the years.
There will be a celebration of Mary's life on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 2 - 8 PM in the Fairboard Building on the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
