Marylou Pissarro

December 5, 1949 — January 2, 2013

Marylou Pissarro,63, of Van Wert, Ohio was taken home by the Lord at 1:15 PM Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

Marylou was born on December 5th, 1949 in Middlepoint, Ohio to her beloved parents Curt and Edith (Hertel) Hammond. On January 8th, 1981 she was married to John Pissarro, who survives in Van Wert. He was not only her husband, but one of her best friends throughtout her life.

Marylou's brothers, Orville Hammond and Sam Hammond preceded her in death.

Marylou leaves behind two daughters who she loved unconditionally, Michele Espinoza, married to her beloved son-in-law Gary Espinoza of Van Wert, and Jennifer Berget of Racine, Wisconsin: five grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life: Gary Espinoza Jr.,Ritchie Espinoza, Vanessa "V" Espinoza all of Van Wert, and Elyssia Wagner and Marisa Wagner of Racine, Wisconsin: and a brother, Jim Hammond, whom she loved dearly, of Convoy, Ohio.

Marylou Pissarro was a truly remarkable woman throughout her life. She attended Madisonville Vocational School in Madisonville, Kentucky, where she graduated at the top of her class of 2,500 with an "A" average to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She went on to work at the Vanderbilt Universitty Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee in the pediatric unit and also St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

One word described Marylou Pissarro, and that word is perseverance. No matter what situation was put in front of her, Mary could overcome it. No matter how tough the circumstance, she would never give up. She passed that unbreakable resiliency down to her children and grandchildren who came to her for wisdom, secrity, joyous laughter, and most importantly, her warm, undying love. Marylou's spirit will live on in all the lives she has so generously touched, which is why Mary decided that she would not have a funeral service or viewing and to be cremated. She wanted the memories of her to bring relief to everyone close to her, not the sight of her empty shell. Marylou Pissarro will always be loved and dearly missed. The Lord has received a very special angel and now she looks upon us all, smiling, free, and just waiting to see all of her loved ones again.
