Mildred C. Wannemacher

87, formerly of Ottoville, died at 12:29 a.m. Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born April 3, 1921, in Ottoville, the daughter of the late Henry and Clara (Dietering) Koester. She married Richard Wannemacher, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wannemacher was employed as a custodian at Ottoville School and the bank. She also did babysitting for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and the Van Wert YWCA and went on many of the YW's bus trips.
Survivors include a brother, Jerome (Marita) Koester of Burnsville, Minn.; two sisters, Mary Jane Burgei of Cloverdale and Irene (Don) Friemoth of Van Wert; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Six brothers, Roman, Alphonse, Gerald, Virgil, Victor and Clarence, and two sisters, Rita (Paul) Burgei and Eileen (Joe) Sanders, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Mike Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Ottoville.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Brickner Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Wert Animal Protective League or a charity of donor's choice.
