Naomi R. Vandoren

Naomi R. VanDoren, age 81, of Van Wert, died at 4:35 PM Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Hearth & Home in Van Wert.
She was born December 20, 1931, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the Late Horace W. and Cecile (Ireland) Knittle.
On December 10, 1950, she married Kenneth E. "Skip" VanDoren who preceded her in death May 26, 2009.
She is survived by her children: David (Jennifer) VanDoren of Paw Paw, Michigan- Vickie Moser of Edgerton, Ohio- and Micheal K. (Dawn) VanDoren of Van Wert. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren,9 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Brothers, Richard Knittle, Fort Wayne- Kenneth (Arlene) Knittle, Fort Wayne-Gordon (Sonja) Knittle, Van Wert-Dennis (Shelley) Knittle, Van Wert- and 2 Sisters: Louise Miller, Findlay, Ohio-Marjorie (Dwight) Rhoades, Venedocia,Ohio.
She was preceded in death by 1 Son, Thomas E. VanDoren and 1 Brother, William Knittle.
She was a retired employee of Save-a-Lot grocery and the former Fishers Big Wheel. She was a member and very active in the Van Wert Chapter of the Women of the Moose.
Naomi loved her family and friends, get togethers, playing cards, cooking, the Chicago Cubs, and all children.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at Brickner Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call at Brickner Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon Friday to time of services.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimers Association.
