Peggy A Matthews

Peggy A. Matthews, age 80, of Van Wert died at 8:30 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Van Wert Health.  She was born October 6, 1937 in Van Wert, a daughter of Orville and Grace (Cotterman) Waldron, both of whom are deceased.  On July 31, 1955 she married Ralph Matthews who preceded her in death on September 18, 1998.

Surviving her are two sons, Randy (Renee) Matthews of Van Wert and Mark (Elizabeth) Matthews of Beavercreek, Ohio.  Also surviving are three grandchildren;  Sindi Hazeltine of Van Wert,  Alyssa Matthews of Fort Wayne, Braxton Matthews of Fort Wayne, a great grandchild, Brecken Hazeltine, a brother, Jack (Mary) Waldron of Findlay, a sister, Carol ( David) Schulte of Van Wert and a daughter-in-law, Becky Matthews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brent Matthews, twin brother and sister in infancy, Connie and Ronnie Waldron.

Peggy worked at North American Phillips Lighting for several years but spent her remaining years staying at home raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Celina Eagles.

Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 19 at Brickner Funeral Home with Deacon Andrew McMahon officiating.  The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, and also prior to the services on Tuesday.  Burial will follow in Convoy I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Convoy, Ohio.
