Phyllis Thomas

Phyllis Thomas, 85, of Van Wert, died at 6:32 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born July 15, 1926, in Anston in Yorkshire, England. The daughter of Gilbert David and Constance Mary (Crampton) Hargreave. She married Harry M. Thomas, Jr. on March 15, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2010.
She had been an employee of Keypost Inn, Van Wert Overall Manufacturing Company and British Rail. She also belonged to Transatlantic Brides Association and Van Wert American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Hugh David (Mary) Thomas of Hamilton; Two daughters, Carol Lynn Thomas of Lima and Julie Thomas of Van Wert; a brother, Terence Hargreave of Van Wert; and two grandchildren, Eric David (Julie) Thomas of Monroe, OH and Megan Lindsay Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Josh Tissot officiating.
