87, of rural Middle Point, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1919, on the family farm where he lived, the son of the late Arley and Minnie (Poling) Mosier. On January 5, 1941, he married Helen A. (Glander) Mosier, who survives.
Mr. Mosier farmed his entire life and for many years worked as a self-employed mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941-1945 and attaining the rank of sergeant. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Marybelle (Dwight) Cooper of Lawrence, Kan., and Sallyanne (Peter) Calvert of Celina; a son, Jerry (Mary) Mosier of Middle Point; two sisters, Lou Engeberg of Los Angeles, Calif., and Emma Schwarz of Downey, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Two brothers, Ralph and Arthur Mosier, and five sisters, Lela in infancy, Opal Mosier, Hazel DeCamp, Bertie Riley and Lillie Knies, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Peter Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County, with graveside military rites performed.
Visitation is from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Church of a charity of donor's choice.
