Robert Lavonne Kiracofe
June 6, 1935 — July 10, 2009
74, of Van Wert, died at 7:49 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born June 6, 1935, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Dellas Marion and Edith Mae (Florence) Kiracofe. On December 13, 1968, he married Kathryn Ann (Wells) Kiracofe, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Kiracofe retired from the former Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert after 27 years of service as a welder. He was also a driver for the Van Wert County Council on Aging for 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, and a past member of the Eagles, Moose and Knights of Columbus lodges.
In addition to his wife, survivors include six children, Beverly (Randy Reed) Howard, Gary Kiracofe, Craig (Vicky) Kiracofe, Cindy (Darell) Anderson and Lolly (Dale) Boley, all of Van Wert, and Ronna (Rob) Drane of Mansfield; one sister, Barbara (Fred) Wisner of Willshire; seven grandchildren, Brand Michael Howard, Ashley Anderson, Amanda Louth, Coleman Drane, Reilly Drane, Casey Kiracofe, and Raegan Boley; and a great-grandson, Brandon Howard.
A stepson, Charles "Chuck" Smitley; and three grandchildren, Adam Kiracofe, Seth Dean Anderson and Emily Suzanne Anderson, also preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Mike Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
