80, of Van Wert, Ohio, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday, July 01, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert, OH.

He was born September 16, 1924 in Edon, Ohio the son of the late Oliver and Dorothy (Tyson) Learned. On March 28, 1943 he married Enid Ruth Rhoad, who died July 17, 1976.

Mr. Learned attended Harvest Pentacostal Church in Scott. He had been a commercial photographer having owned his own business and had been a photographer for the Van Wert Times Bulletin. He had served as a deputy sheriff in the Van Wert County Sheriffs Dept. He had also worked at the General Electric plant in Decatur, IN for a number of years. He and his son Jim had participated in Red Cross Bloodmobiles by transporting the blood to Fort Wayne. He had also worked with his son producing woodworking crafts which they then sold. He had attended many time trials and races at the Indianapolis 500 as a photographer. He loved gospel style music and had attended numerous concerts in Ohio and other parts of the country. In recent years he had taken up scrapbooking as a hobby.

He is survived by James Richard Learned (son) of Van Wert, OH, Sandra (Kaye) Learned (daughter) of Van Wert, OH, and Beth A. Learned (daughter) of Van Wert, OH.

He was preceded in death by 1 Brother, Richard Learned

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 06, 2005 at Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are Tuesday July 05, 2005 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m..

Memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Edison Center in Van Wert.
