Royal R. Stuckey

Royal R. Stuckey, age 87, of Hoaglin Township died at 6:32 PM Monday, April 13, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.  He was born August 29,1927 in Hoaglin Township, the son of Burl & Muriel (Crates) Stuckey.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years Dorothy (Campbell) Stuckey.

He is survived by a son, Robert (Norma) Stuckey of rural Ohio City, 4 Grandchildren: Tina (Kevin) Smith, Erik Stuckey, Trisha (Carl Buckner) Stuckey and Crystal (James) Schleeter.  He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Stahl and Dorothy Smith.

He was employed by Kennedy Manufacturing as a foreman and retired after 40 years of service.  He also farmed for many years and was a musican for 25 years with the "Singing Strings."

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served between the end of World War ll and the beginning of the Korean Conflict.  He attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert and was a member of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert.

Funeral Services will be held at Brickner Funeral Home at 11:30 AM Saturday April 18.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, April 17.  Military graveside rites will be rendered by the Combined Honors Unit of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178 of Van Wert.
