Ruth E. Burley

84, of Van Wert, OH., died at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Convoy Care Center, Convoy, OH..

She was born February 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Orville D. and Nora (Reed) Foley. On February 22, 1941, she married Nolen D. "Noley" Burley, who survives in Van Wert.

Mrs. Burley was a homemaker and member of the Women of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178, both in Van Wert.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Sandy (James) Williams of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one son, Robert (Vicki) Burley of Payne; a sister, Lillian Slain Hartsock of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren, Brian R. (Kristy) Vest of Payne, Aaron R. Burley of Roanoke, Ind., Adam R. Burley of Leipsic, James L. (Tracy) Williams II, Tami Preston and Lori Williams, all of Fort Wayne, and Angie (Todd) Abke of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Twin sons, Roland and Ronald Burley, who died at birth; a brother, Hap "Red" Foley; and five sisters, Esther Scott, Mabel Dull, Berniece Putman, Lucile Cox and Cecille Allison, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 17, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, August 16, at the funeral home, where a Women of the Moose memorial service will be held at 8 that evening.
