97, of Van Wert, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born June 12, 1909, in Lima, the daughter of the late Harry W. and Alverta (Durker) Snook. On February 9, 1946, she married Melvin J. Stallkamp, who died June 13, 1985.
Mrs. Stallkamp was employed for many years, along with her husband, Mel, by American Electric Power in the Van Wert, Delphos and Lima areas. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and its Rosary Altar Society. She also was a longtime volunteer with the Van Wert County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Van Wert County Hospital TWIGS group and the Lady Elks of Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. She was also a very avid and loyal "Buckeyes" fan.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Martha Kihm of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, Harold Snook, and one sister, Esther Fisher, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Delphos.
Visitation is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Vancrest Health Care Center or St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
