Teresa "Teri" Diana Lee Grilliot

Teresa "Teri" Diana Lee Grilliot, age 67, of Grand Rapids Michigan and a former resident of Van Wert, died at 12:53 PM Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic. She was born April 27, 1953, in Bluffton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Lengerich) Hauenstein.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Thomas Grilliot of Grand Rapids, MI: Sons Nicholas (Tamikia) Grilliot of Ringgold, Georgia, and Jonathon Grilliot of Dayton, OH- Granddaughter Emery Grilliot of Ringgold, GA and Step-grandchildren Isaiah Burks and Kennedy Allen both of Ringgold, GA.- Brothers Neil (Roseanne) Hauenstein of Blacksburg, VA and Jim (Karen) Hauenstein of Bluffton, Ohio- and a sister Ramona Hauenstein of Lima along with many nieces and nephews.

Teri obtained her BA from Bluffton College and her MBA from Bowling Green University.  Her employment included Employers Services Dept. of Lima, HR at General Dynamics Tank plant in Lima, State Farm Insurance as an Auto Claims Adjuster, with certifications as a  CLU( Charter Life Underwriter) and CPCU (Charter Property Casualty Underwriter) in Lima and Newark, Ohio, and  from which she retired in 2011.

She was a very active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert, and other Catholic Churches in the communities in which they resided. Of special importance to Teri was her grand daughter Emery and together the two them spent many hours together.   Teri loved to design and decorate houses, rooms, and just about anything she could leave her mark on including their residence in Van Wert which she completely designed and decorated both the inside and outside. She also loved to back pack and covered most of Europe including Florence, Italy where she maintained a residence in which she resided at least three months a year.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM Thursday, March 25, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Obinwa and Rev. Chris Bohnsack officiating.  Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos at a later date.  Viewing will be at Brickner Funeral Home from 2 - 7 Wednesday, March 24th. followed by a Parish Vigil Service at 7:00 PM

Preferred memorials are gifts to Taussig Cancer Center or St. Vitus Village both in Cleveland.

Funeral Mass will be streamed live at 10:30 AM on You Tube channel VMEL Van Wert and viewers will be able to go back later and watch.
