age 76, of Van Wert, died Sunday, January 01, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima Ohio.
He was born October 24, 1929, in Putman County Ohio, the son of Alphonse and Rosa (Klima) Markward. He married Margaret A. McCleary on May 02, 1953, she preceeded him in death on May 08, 2005.
Mr. Markward was retird from Continental Can (Sonoco) after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Marys of The Assumption Catholic Church, a 1948 graduate of St. John's High School, Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of the American Legion Post 178, and the Loyal order of the Moose Lodge 1320. He was also an avid bowler and golfer.
He is survived by a son, David J. Markward of Van Wert, and his family, Shannon Markward, Jordan (Paige) Markward, Taylor Markward, Logan Markward; son, Stephen C. (Loretta) Markward of Van Wert, and his family, Chris (Eli) Rodriquez and daughter Devyn, Tanya Kennedy and daughter Morgan, Jessica (Matt) weiss and daughter Lillian, and sons, Kollin, Kaden, and Keaton, Heather Markward; son Timothy P. Markward of Warsaw Indiana and his family, Maggie Markward; a daughter, Elaine M. (Donald Jr.) Bragg of Van Wert and their family, Jeremy (Amanda) Bragg, Justin Bragg, Jayme Bragg; son, Kenneth J. (Marie) Markward of Van Wert and their family, Crista, Tina, Cody, Caleb; daughter, Linda Markward of Van Wert; sisters, Alice Wolfinger of Lancaster, Dolores Sheeter of Delphos, Beatrice Dray of Fremont; brother, Arthur (Barb) Markward of Lima; sisters-in-law, Celia Markward of Ravenna, Lois Markward of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joshua Bragg and Zachary Markward; two sisters, Genevieve Rupert and Valita Grewe; two brothers, Richard and Wilbur Markward.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 05, 2006 at St. Mary's Of The Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert with the Rev. Charles Obinwa. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 04, 2006, at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 8:00 P.M..
