Vivian E. (Nichols) Thomas

October 28, 1920 — August 23, 2015

Vivian E. Thomas, 94, of Van Wert passed away at 5:06 AM Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Vancrest Healthcare Center.  She was born on October 28, 1920 in St. Charles, Michigan, a daughter of William E. and Grace (Baum) Nichols, both of whom are deceased.  On May 28, 1957 she married Orville E. Thomas and he passed away November 2, 1995.

She is survived by sons and daughters:  Mary (James) Gunter of Elida, John (Diane) Adelblue of Canby, OR, Barbara Adelblue of Pensacola, FL, Martha Martin of Fort Wayne, IN, Shirley (Randy) Miller of Ohio City, Thomas Joe Thomas of Middlebury, OH, a Step-daughter, Georgia (Larry) Adam of Van Wert and a sister, Leda Booth of Van Wert.  Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard (Trina) Adelblue and two grandchildren, John Mark Eyanson and Mary Vivian Amell.

She had been a member of the former Calvary United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxillary of Van Wert.  She had retired from Teleflex Corp. and had also worked at several other factories.  After her retirement she provided home health care for older residents.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Brickner Funeral Home with Rev. Clark Williman officiating.  Viewing will be from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday.  Burial will take place in I.O.O.F Cemetery in Convoy.

Preferred Memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
