William B. Emrick

age 67, of Van Wert, died at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his residence.

He was born April 16, 1938, in Van Wert, the son of the late Henry B. and Effie E. (Moore) Emrick.

Mr. Emrick was employed at Eaton Corporation in Van Wert for 30 years. He also worked part-time at Wells Motor Sales and The Partee Shop, both in Van Wert. He was a member and past exalted ruler of Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, in Van Wert, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include two sons, Tim (Suzie) Emrick of Van Wert and Dan (Patty) Emrick of Ocoee, Fla.; a stepson, Jeremy (Pam) Smith of Van Wert; two stepdaughters, Stephanie (Greg) Stevens of Bucyrus and Amanda (Jason) Rathbun of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two granddaughters, Christy Emrick and Leah Emrick, and six stepgrandchildren, Adam Smith, Jessica Smith, Ryne Stevens, Austin Stevens, Sidney Stevens and Allison Rathbun.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Brickner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gregory Leigh officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honor units of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178, both in Van Wert.

Viewing hours are from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at the funeral home.
