Gene L. Wilson, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 5:22 p.m. at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born March 24, 1929, in Broughton, Ohio to the late Omer C. Wilson and Jennie (Rodgers) Wilson. He married Jean (Lesher) Wilson in 1948 and she survives in Van Wert.
Gene retired from Kennedy Manufacturing Company after 43 years of service. He was a member of Van Wert Masonic Lodge #218, Scottish Rite and Zenobia Shrine of Toledo. He was also a lifetime member of Van Wert VFW Post #5803.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army in the South Pacific.
Surviving includes a daughter, Linda D. (Charles) Butler of El Paso, TX; Two sisters-in-law, Wyn (Rodger) Wilson of Van Wert, OH and Wilma (Jack) Wilson of Angola, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles A. Butler; two brothers, Rodger Wilson and Jack Wilson; and three sisters, Monicha Wilson, Ethelyn (Leonard) Friesner and Maxine (Harold) Tarlton.
Gene's request was to be cremated and no public services. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
