Mildred Morris

age 84, of Van Wert, died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was born November 5, 1921, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Carey and Lillie (Sealscott) Weldy. She married John J. Morris, who died December 11, 1968.

Mrs. Morris was formerly employed by the Central Insurance Companies and retired from Thomas Edison School. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia, the Van Wert Woman's Club, Van Wert County Genealogical Society, Joy Bunch and Ruth Circle at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, the Delphos chapter of Order of Eastern Star and was a volunteer at Brumback Library in Van Wert.

Survivors include a son, Dave (Diane) Morris of Venedocia; one daughter, Edith (David) Morris of Cincinnati; a brother, William (Pauline) Weldy of Van Wert; eight grandchildren, Leah (Mike) Keysor, Marie (Phillip) Winfield, Noel Morris, Ethan Morris, Anne Morris, Olivia Morris, Megan Morris and Sarah Morris; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Keysor, Claire Keysor and Morgan Winfield.

A sister, Lillian Weldy, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Horeb Cemetery in Venedocia.

Visitation is from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at the funeral home.
