Milford D. Rayer, age 80, of Van Wert died at 7:10 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 24, 1934 in Van Wert the son of William & Leona (Landis) Rayer who both preceded him in death . On October 6, 1952 he was united in marriage with Josephine Barrientos who preceded him in death on May 23, 2012.
He is survived by his children: Christina (Rex) Craig of Van Wert- Randall Dean Rayer of Ohio City- Terrilyn (Dennis) Straw of Ohio City- Brian Rayer of Elida- and Jeff (Lori) Rayer of Van Wert. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and 2 brothers.
Milford was a retired employee of Chrysler Corp, a Naval Veteran of the Korean War, and a Life Member of American Legion Post 178 Van Wert.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Brickner Funeral Home with calling begining at 10 AM to Time of Service. Preferred Memorials are gifts to the donor's choice.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be performed by the combined Honors Unit of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178.
